De paseo por León

¡Hola!

Hello!

How are you? I hope that you are brilliant. This weekend I was in León, it was a very special trip since all my family on behalf of my paternal grandfather is of there, so I have blood of one of the most ancient medieval Kingdoms of our country. Since already you will know León it is placed in the northwest of the Iberian Peninsula, in a fluvial terrace, to 840 meters of altitude. For León the rivers Bernesga and Torío happen.

Later I am going to teach you the photos that I did:

León's cathedral, it is one of the most important Gothic works of Spain. Known with the nickname of leonine Pulchra, which there means ' The beautiful from Leon one '. The origins of León's Cathedral go back to the 10th century when during the epoch of the Christian reconquest it departs from the former Roman thermal baths of the 2nd century they served as base of the new Royal palace. Newly renowned King of León Ordoño II who months before obtained a victory against the Arabs in San Esteban's Battle of Gormaz decided to construct the first basilica of the city, as gesture of gratefulness God, on his palace. Years later there began the construction of the Romanesque cathedral promoted by the princess Urraca, sister of the late king Ordoño II, in order that it was turning into an identical temple to the aspirations, In order that it was turning into an identical temple to the aspirations of the Romanesque Christianity. The construction was realized in brick and masonry that was occupying the episcopal headquarters of Pelayo II. It was consisting of three ships finished off with semicircular apses. The new basilica was dedicated during the reign of Alfonso VI On November 10, 1073. The raising of the current cathedral, which presents a polished Gothic French style, began in the year 1205. Though the economic problems that were crossed in those days forced to paralyze the works, finally in 1255 they were resumed under the sponsorship of the bishop Martin Fernandez, with the support of the king Alfonso X Wise. The French origin of the first two builders was given by them to him this Gothic French aspect that so much it characterizes to this catedral.

The walls are the Roman fortification of the city that delimits the old town. León's wall is considered to be one of more former than they preserve in Spain. From 1931 it forms a part of the list of Historical Artistic Monument of Spain. The Roman wall that it is possible to see at present got up between the 3rd century and the IVth, with 5 meters of width and 10 meters of high place, constructed with carved stone, singing rolled, reinforced with mortar of lime and was added big buckets or towers of semicircular plant placed very next by some of others.

This they are some of the places that it is necessary to visit in León, but there are many more to be able to see.

When we were coming back home, in Segovia it was snowing very much, it is the first time that I have seen to snow in this year and that it forms of snowing ... it was snowing very much. The machines snowplows were not stopping happening removing snow and there were cars that were slipped, but we come safe and healthy to Madrid.
